A Post-Humous Award For SAM LOCO?

Story By JOHNSON OBASI
Even as preparation are on high gear to bury him next month and circumstances surrounding his sudden demise are yet to be fully unravalled, late Nollywood star actor, Sam Loco Efe, has been touted as deservings National Merit Award for his contribution towards the growth of the Nigerian Movie Industry.

A cross section of stakeholders in the industry, who spoke with Star Weekly! said the only way the society can compensate the late actor is to give him a post-humous award.

“Last year, when Chinedu IKedieze was conferred with a National Merit Award, many people believed that award should have gone to people like Sam Loco, who gave much to the birth and growth of the third largest movie industry in the world,” a movie producer  based in Surulere, Lagos, told Star Weekly!

It must be noted that the Edo State born actor had been acting, even before the birth of Nollywood as he starred in Hotel De Jorden, a popular TV drama series aired in the early 80s.
