Coming on the heels of the tragic Dana air craft that threw the country into mourning on the 3rd of last month, the much awaited movie, Last Flight To Abuja, is scheduled to primere in Nigeria come August 3rd. The event, which is billed to hold at Genesis Delux Cinema, Lagos, we have stars of Nigerian movie industry, especially those who featured in the movie in attendance.
Earlier last month, the movie was premiered in London. It was an evening of grief as celebrities from all walks of life who
gathered at Troxy Cinema in East London, for the
premiere of “Last Flight to Abuja”, observed one-minute
silence in memory of victims of the ill-fated Dana plane crash, in
Lagos.
The movie, starring Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Jim Iyke,
Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Gozie Ekeha among others has its concept driven from the series of tragedies that rocked the nation’s
aviation sector in 2006.
According to the producer,Obi Emelonye, who is also the producer of the award winning Mirror Boy, ït’s unfortuante that plane crashes
occurred before the premiere of the movie. He however dedicated the
movie to the memory of all who lost their lives in the two ill-fated
crashes that involved Allied Air and Dana Air, in
Accra and Lagos.
The London premiere, had in attendance the cast of the film including Omotola
Jalade-Ekeinde, Jim Iyke, Gozie Ekeh and Ali Nuhu. Ambassador O.K.
Lawal, the Deputy High Commissioner to the court of St James represented
Nigerian government at the event.
