"Why My Albums Are Being Delayed" - 9ICE

Nigerian star hip-hop musician, 9ice, has given the reason behind the delay in the release of his new albums. According to the award winning musician, the reason not only bordered on the fact that it is a two-in-one album, he was also making sure that the albums had the kind of quality that would soothe his teeming fans across the country, fans of the konga Aso crooner have been expressing their feelings over his inability to come up with an album after a very long while.
         
According to 9ice, the albums featuring tracks of collabo  with some well known faces in the Nigeria music industry.  These include Duncan Mighty, Flavour and Abdul Kareem amongst a host of others.
The album is expected to be out in a couple of months from now.

Did BABA SUWE Actually Carry Cocaine?

For fans of Nollywood star actor, Baba Suwe, there are more questions than answers as regards the allegation that he was found with cocaine last Wednesday, on his way to Paris to compere the birthday party of a friend"s daughter. The embattled actor was arrested by men of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for allegedly carrying some kilograms of the had drug and promptly detained in their custody. However, during the weekend, another report had it that when Baba Suwe was  made  to excrete, no wraps of cocaine was found on him. As at 12p.m. today, no official statement has been issued by men of the NDLEA to either confirm or refute the new twist to the story. Well, did Baba Suwe have cocaine on him when he was arrested? That is the big question which fans of Nollywood want NDLEA to answer.The Agency has, however, refused to grant bail to the actor.  A source close to the Agency told Star Weekly! that the officials  were still carring out their investigation into the matter.

Star Brand LUCOZADE BOOST Disappoints Fans Of Reality Show

Fans of the on-going Lucozade Boost Freestyle Show, were thrown into confusion last week Friday, during a recording of the reality show that took place at WDB studio at Ikeja.
  Trouble started when the recording which was slated to start by 12pm did not start until 6pm in the evening.
By then, fans who came to act as audience in the recording, were both tired and exhausted.

According to our source, the show did not end until about 12am mid-night "By then, it was too late to go home but the organizers insisted that we should  leave the hotel premises since the time they booked for had expired," She told Star Weekly!
Compere of the event, Julius Agwu, cold not save the situation as he said there was nothing he could do about it.
Star Weekly! learnt that the issue nearly degenerated into conflict with the security officials but was finally resolve when the fans were aloud to pass the night in a hall at the hotel premises.

GENEVIEVE, OMOTOLA Clash Again!

The age-old rivalry and battle for supremacy between Nollywood top two actresses, Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Ekehinde is set to replay itself once again come next November when the Best of Nollywood Awards will hold.

According to the organizers, there are 28 categories in the awards with over a hundred nominees. However, the categories that will be keenly contested are Best Actress and Best Actor. This is due to the big names in the industry that have been nominated for the the two categories.

Those keenly contesting for the Best Actress include Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Ekehinde and Uche Jombo while those for Best Actor parade the likes of Ramsey Nuah, Kenneth Okonkwo and Obi Okeke amongst other stars.

It won’t be the first time Genevieve and Omotola are clashing in a major Nollywood competition. A couple of years ago, the rivalry was so intense that the two actresses began to keep malice and avoid each other.

Well, who wins this time? Star Weekly! will keep you posted. The Best of Nollywood Awards holds on Friday, November 11. It will be hosted by Comedian Tee A and Nollywood star actress, Ini Edo.

A Post-Humous Award For SAM LOCO?

Even as preparation are on high gear to bury him next month and circumstances surrounding his sudden demise are yet to be fully unravalled, late Nollywood star actor, Sam Loco Efe, has been touted as deservings National Merit Award for his contribution towards the growth of the Nigerian Movie Industry.

A cross section of stakeholders in the industry, who spoke with Star Weekly! said the only way the society can compensate the late actor is to give him a post-humous award.

“Last year, when Chinedu IKedieze was conferred with a National Merit Award, many people believed that award should have gone to people like Sam Loco, who gave much to the birth and growth of the third largest movie industry in the world,” a movie producer  based in Surulere, Lagos, told Star Weekly!

It must be noted that the Edo State born actor had been acting, even before the birth of Nollywood as he starred in Hotel De Jorden, a popular TV drama series aired in the early 80s.

For Nollywood star actress, Mercy Johnson, it’s not yet time to shout hurray as her husband ex-wife, Lovelyn has vowed to make matrimonial life a hell for the embattled actress.

What appeared to be a temporal relief came the way of Mercy and her man Prince Okojie earlier when the man succeeded in getting a divorce from his estranged ex-wife. This had relieved the anxiety of fans of the movie star who were watching the unfolding drama of the controversial wedding. Expectedly, the wedding activities, which had been suspended, came alive again.

But, even as the church wedding held at an undisclosed location, sources close to Lovelyn say Mercy should prepare for a tough battle as she (Lovelyn) already has two children – aged five and three – for the prince.

“Lovelyn has vowed to make her matrimony a hell,” one of these told Star Weekly!

Sexy looking Nollywood star actress, Stephanie Okereke has gone a step further to enhance her accessability by the media and her fans. The ex-beauty screen diva, who was the first runner-up at the 2002 edition of Silverbird's Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) , has Launched an online magazine called Stephanie.
According to the theatre Art graduate of the university of calabar, the gesture was a way of getting her fans updated about her career.
In her own words, "the magazine will focus on what is happening around me and how i see events generally."

RITA DOMNIC Stars In Kenyan Movie

Titled "Shattered" the movie is an emotional and thought-provoking flick that draws on child abuse love and betrayal of trust as its major materials.
Rita Domnic is expected to play the role of a woman who tries to overcome the burden of neglect and  child abuse in a middle class society.
This woul be the first time the actress would be leaving the shoves of the country for Kenya. Last April, she was also in that country to honour the AMAA nomination invitation.
The development is in line with the recent trend of Nollywood stars being invited to star in major movies from other Africa countries.

It was a time of joy and fulfilment, yesterday, when Nollywood star actress, Nkiru Sylvanus was name as one of the special aides to Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo state. This has forther swelled the number of Nollywood stars going into politics. Amonges these are Tony One Week, RMD,Kanayo O Kanayo. etc .
Nkirus name was among the list of names made available to the press yesterday. According to the realise, the star actress who made a mark in the Nigerian Movie industrey with her crying roles, will be over seeing Labour Affairs in Imo state for the next four years.

BBA: When Nudity Fails To Save KAREN From Eviction Nomination

Despite all her show of nakedness and nudity, Nigeria's housemate at the current Big Brother Africa {BBA} reality television show, was last week nominated for eviction from the house.Though some viewers say the eviction nomination was self sacrificial, Karen has come  under strong criticism in the public domain due to her pornographic exposures in the show.
In recent times, BBA has come under attack from African governments because of its pornographic contents, which are alleged to be commercialized in Europe and United States after the show has ended. A couple of years ago, there was a debates in the National Assembly as to whether to ban it in Nigeria or not. But there was lake of sincerity on the part of our lawmakers who, it was observed, rush to buy the decoders to watch the show even when they were pressing for its ban on the floor of the House.

STELLA DAMASUS: "Artistes Who Take Alchohol To Enhance Their Performance Are Fake"

It is a known fact that, most times, entertainers take a few glasses of alchohol to "get  high" before climbing the stage. This is believed to enhance their performance. It is even whispered in some quarters  that some "men of God" take the stuff before ascending the pulpit.
But, Nollywood Star actress, Stella Damasus has come heavily against all those indulging in the act, calling them fake.
"If you a talented artistes, you would realise that if you take alchohol before performing, it would reflect badly on your performance."
The mother of two, who was speaking during the practical examination of students of Stella Damasus Arts Foundation {SDAF} recently, also use the opportunity to explain the reason for setting up the foundation.
"The aim of setting up this founddtion is also to teach morals. A lot of things are wrong about our entertainment industry and we want to breed a new set of talented people," She stated.

ONYEABOR: Nollywood Top Producer Sent To Kirikiri

It was a time of reckoning, yesterday when Nollywood top move producer Ifeanyichukwu  Onyeabor was ordered to be remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison by an Ikeja high court.
Mr Onyeabor is being tried by the Economic and  Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) over an alleged financial fraud running into N8.8Million.
Onyeabor was said to have collected the sum of N8.8Million from Steve-James Limited on the pretext of producing two movies for the company -  a contract that was never executed.
The crime which was committed in the December of 2009, has brougth the long arm of the law after  the producer.
After listening to the charge, Mr Onyeabor pleaded not guilty and was ordered to be remanded at Kirikiri pending the outcome of his bail application.

Mercy Aigbe, Nollywood star actress, who has had  two children in quick succession, says she is putting on hold the idea of having another baby. Even though the actress could not say whether the decision was a mutual agreement between her husband, Mercy Aigbe said the decision was on a very serious note.
She also debunked the rumour that her husband's first wife beat her up.
"I am still laughing because that story is false. When i read stories like that, i always laugh because i just wonder where the rumour mongers got their facts. But, after i laugh, the reality of it would  dawn on me because  the public  do not know  it is false.That is why i take steps to dispel the rumour ," she told news men over the weekend.
Mercy Aigbe's new movie, Osas, which is set in Benin city and rendered in Edo language, will soon be out.

NKIRU SYLVANUS Denies Romance With Lagos Club Owner

Nollywood Star actress, Nkiru Sylvanus has debunked the rumor going round, that she's having a hot romance with an Ikeja, Lagos, based club owner.
In a chat with Star Weekly! the actress said she had not been to Lagos in recent times, Let alone having an affair.
"For the past one year, i have not stepped my feet in Lagos. so, how come am having an affair with an Ikeja based club owner?" she told Star Weekly!
The pretty actress, who made her mark in the industry with crying scenes and nick - named "Ble-ble" on account of her role in "Hour Of Grace", has been missing in new Nollywood movies. However, a close friend to Nkiru, confided  in Star Weekly! that the Star actress is now being very selective with the roles she picks.
"She has been stereo - typed as the crying actress and she wants to fit into other more challenging role," the friend said.

  It would be recalled that a few weeks ago, the beautiful, fair, skinned screen diva gave birth to a baby boy in the United Kingdom.     
However the joy of motherhood turned sour for Grace when  her husband denied being responsible for the baby and insisted that a DNA test must be carried out before he can accept the baby as his own

ASHLEY NWOSU's Burial Fraud - N4 Million Disappears!

             The spirit of late Nollywood star actor, Ashley Nwosu, must be groaning wherever he is.The reason is not far-fetched.The  N4 Million condolence gift given to his widow, by the Abia state governor, Theodore Orji, has not only been hijacked by the Lagos  state chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) but has also been shared among some members of the association.
             Star Weekly! gathered, that saddened by the death of the ace actor, Gov Theodore Orji had sent a condolence gift of  N4 Million to the bereaved  family. The money, it was learnt, was supposed to be disbursed through the Lagos AGN. But rather than hand over the money to the family, members of the Guild shared it among themselves.

              The scandal has gradually got to a point where AGN's national president, Segun Arinze has set up a probe panel to investigate the allegation.
              However, chairman of Lagos AGN, Emeka Rising, denied that  any  such thing happened." It is obvious that some people in this industry do not wish AGN well because they benefit whenever there is crises in the Guild," Emeka stated  while refutting the story.

OHP Records Unleashes KUL JONES

OHP Records has finally unveiled the new hip-hop sensation, Kul Jones. The unveiling party which took place penultimate week, in Lagos attracted a galaxy of  stars.
     Kul Jones hit song, Gbagbe-oshi, is presently ruling the air waves and rocking radio stations across Nigeria.
 Commenting on the success of the unveiling party,
the CEO of OHP Records, Egbebune Ikechukwu Phil, in a chat with Star Weekly!, said Kul Jones  is someone who is fast embracing stardom so it is not surprising that people tune out enmass to the occasion.
        On his own part, Ogebe Adadu Patrick, the manager of OHP Records, told the magazine that Kul Jones first album would soon be out. He told the fans of the star to watch out as he is fully loaded, ready to explode.
        Kul Jones attributed the success of his musical career to God Almighty. According to him, Gbagbe-oshi the song that brought him fame, its an inspirational that encourage everyone not to give up on the face of challenges.

Come next September, the Super Eagles will slug it out with Argentina in the return leg of an international friendly. The Eagles flogged the Argentine side 4-1 in a match many people believed was stage- managed by the referee for Argentina to score there only goal.
            Argentina blamed it on the absence of Messi. But Nigeria countered that Osaze, too, was absent in the match.
          Now, both teams are set to slug it out again come next September. This time around, both Messi and Osaze will be playing.

Secondly,  Pyrantrin has been launched to declare the complete indigenization of Neimeth and its products. We used to sell Combatrin as a legacy of pfizer but now we are completely independent."

Why I Don't Act The Role Of A Prostitute = Olajumoke

Beautiful and Talented Olajumoke Khadijat is no Longer a New face in Nollywood. The actress, who has feature in many nollywood movies, especially Yoruba genre of the industry, has taken her entertainment career further up by bringing music into her kitty. Olajumoke is into Islamic gospel music as well as pioneering Islamic movies in NollyWood.
             Despite all these Achievements, the actress has remained  faithful to her religious calling, refusing to play roles that are against the teachings of  Islam.
             Olajumoke recently hosted a crew of Star Weekly! in Lagos, where she shed light on why she does not accept some roles from some NollyWood producers.
             "When they see my look, some NollyWood producers would want me to play the role  of a street girl or a prostitute.This is against my Islamic beliefs. so i always reject such script no matter how much the producers are offering," she told Star Weekly!
