TRICIA ESEIGBE's Birthday Party For Hubby

Married life really pays TV personality, Tricia Eseigbe. The presenter of international TV show, Bold Faces is happy. Reason: It's her hubby Kingsley Kerry's birthday penultimate week. And Tricia called friends and associates to announce the celebration, which is low-key, upon her return into the country from UK.

We gathered that she gave her husband a dinner treat at Chinese Restaurant, Jade Place on the Island to mark the day.

Kingsley, a citizen of Great Britain, got married to Tricia Eseigbe in a glamorous way a couple of months back in Lagos having dated for several years.

Trust some Lagos busy bodies; they didn't fail to ask: Since she wasn't planning to give them a bash, why so much fuss on the birthday? But observers won't blame the sultry actress who hugged stardom with 'Samadora' after all she went through before she finally hooked the guy; she needs to put all efforts to make the marriage work.

"Rapists, Stay Away From My Daughters Or Else...!" - STELLA DAMASUS

Randy men and fun seekers eyeing the two pretty daughters of Nollywood star actress, Stella Damasus, had better be careful as the actress, appalled by the growing wave of rape of the Girl Child in Nigeria, has vowed to take laws unto her own hands and kill any man that sexually abuse any of her daughters.

According to her, she won’t mind going to jail so long as the perpetrator of the act has been sent to six feet below ground level.

“With all the stories that I hear, with all the cases we take care of in Project Alert, everyday my passion for it grows stronger because we have to start to prove that this country has laws that can be used to protect our people. We need to be supported by the law. We need to make people have the belief that they can be safe in this country. I will not lie to you, I have been tempted on many occasion to take my children out of this country to where I know that no matter how difficult it is out there, their safety would be guaranteed,” she stated.

On the measures she has taken to protect her children, she said “I taught my daughters that when any man, be he their uncle, brother or even my friends in the industry, comes to the house, they should greet and go to their seats. If the visitor says, give me a hug, give them side hug. If he says give me a full hug, tell him mummy says that I shouldn't do that. If he says sit on my lap, say no, I want to sit on the chair. If he says come, let me buy you ice cream, tell him thank you.
I told them that if any man touches them between their chests and thighs, they should scream and run. I warned them that they should not stay there and later come and tell me story. If his hands start to come to any part of your body that he should not touch, shout. I remind them of this every morning because they have to be taught. Thankfully, none of them has reported such to me. If that had happened, I would probably not have been sitting here with you, I may have been in jail. If such happens, I will kill the man and go to jail.”

How IBB Disgraced His Supporters In Minna

General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, a.k.a. IBB, kept Nigerians in diaspora who went to visit him in Minna, the Niger State capital, Nigeria, waiting for three days before seeing them.

The Nigerians in diaspora were brought to Minna by his ardent lackey, Chief Alex Akinyele, to show their support for his dream of becoming Nigeria’s president in 2011.
They were, however, kept waiting for three days despite Akinyele’s closeness to IBB. The Nigerians came from North Amerca and Europe to visit him.
The supporters were further embarrassed yesterday when he warned them not to address him as ‘His Execellency’ but ‘General’.
Babangida interrupted the Director of Media of the group when he addresed him as ‘Your Execellency’.
“ No. I have warned not to be addressed as ‘Your Excellency’. I prefer General. Alex Akinyele should have told you that,” IBB said.

Miss Commonwealth, AMAKA OGUCHI: "What I Want In A Husband"

Amaka Oguchi is no longer an obscure name in the Nigerian social circles. A reigning Miss Commonwealth whose reign will end come next November, Amaka has had an experience which many ladies can only dream of.

The beauty queen recently opened up on the kind of man she would like to settle down with and the kind of qualities she expects from him
“He must be my best friend, intelligent, hard working, supportive, fun to be around, nice and caring,” she revealed.
She also shed light on how she handles overtures from men who flock around to woo her into love affairs.
She stated: “ I have male friends but that is as far as it goes. I am never rude, but friendly to the opposite sex. I am also polite and express my self in a way that won’t seem unfair to them no matter the situation. If it does get out of hand, I am never alone, someone is always around me to take care of those issues and that is one of the advantages of being a Queen.”

IGBINEDION And OBA's Family Resume Hostility, Dissolve The Marriage Of Their Children

The Embattled Couple: Gabriella and Aven
Two celebrity star families in the Benin Kingdom of Edo State - the Iginedions and that of the Oba of Benin - have once again put on their boxing gloves. This time, the victims are their daughter and son - Gabriella Onosede Igbinedion and Prince Aven Akenzua respectively -  who got married a couple of years ago.
Star Weekly! gathered that residents of Edoyaye Avenue off Osawe Street, Etete, GRA, Benin City, were thrown into panic when armed mobile policemen, said to be acting on the order of the Esama stormed the palatial mansion of his in-law (Aven) in two lorries to evacuate his daughter’s belongings.

Aven is a son to Enogie Uyieken Akenzua, the younger brother of the Oba of Benin, His Royal Highness, Oba Erediauwa and had against the wish of the Benin palace forged ahead and got wedded to Omosede, the eldest daughter of Lady Cherry Igbinedion.
The marriage produced a baby boy in 2009 and was widely celebrated by the house of Igbinedion in a grand style.
A palace source who craved anonymity said the marriage probably crashed on the ground that the ancestors as epitomised by the Oba of Benin never gave their support and blessings as required by Benin tradition.
In what appeared to be a total disregard to the apparently disapproval of the Benin monarch to the marriage, Chief Igbinedion and Enogie Uyieken gave their son and daughter in an uncommon colourful royal traditional/church wedding on December 31, 2008 and January 5, 2009 respectively.
Consequently, the marriage was said to have triggered unprecedented vexation in Benin Kingdom as Oba Erediauwa eventually drew a battle line against his younger brother for daring to discard his advice.
The travails of Igbinediion, who has since been stripped of his Esama title by the Benin Traditional Council, started when without recourse to the Benin monarch, the traditional custodian of beads, single handedly gave out traditional beads to JP Patterson, former Prime Minister of Jamaica and co-visiting Aghantehene of Kumasi.

STELLA MONYE: "New Generation Of Nigerian Musicians Are Stealing From The Older Generation"

Stella Monye is not a new name in the Nigerian entertainment industry. The “Oko Mi Ye” crooner who dominated the airwaves in the eighties and early nineties, recently took a swipe at the new generation of Nigerian musicians whom he accused of copying the style of the older generation.

According to her, “There is nothing new that they are doing now. What I mean by that is that you will find out that music is all about the same alphabets, it's the same rhythm, I've listened to some of their stuff and I've come to realise that some of such songs are actually recycled from old songs; like what Timaya and J. Martins do. Brackets's 'Yori, Yori' 'Ade Owerri' for example, have a highlife feel. P Square also does the kind of old Nigeria pop. And I also hear some high life from D'banj. A few of these new singers are fantastic, while most of them sing garbage.”
The music icon who has a daughter for the late musician, Sunny Okosuns, also used the opportunity to speak on her clothinh line, “Samba Wears”.
“The clothing line thing is a family thing. My mother was a tailor for about 30 years, and I really never took interest but along the line, I was helping her to fix things, like putting buttons in the holes and other aspects of the job that were not too stressful. But later on, it began to occur to me that I could do that as well. The urge started when I traveled to Abeokuta and I saw a lot of traditional Adire fabric. I know that African fabrics are really beautiful, but Nigerians are not using them to the maximum. We still prefer what the white men are importing into our country, so I just thought I could make a little impact. I brought some tailors together and we are in business. We make a lot of Nigerian dresses and export them abroad. I'm already working on exhibiting them. I am going to start by partnering with the Ogun State Ministry of Tourism and it is going to be huge,” she explained.

"How I Cope With Sexual Desires" - PROPHETESS FABIYI, EBENEZER OBEY's Daughter

Prophetess Orejaiyeola Fabiyi, popularly called AduragbemiroIt by her admirers, is one of the many children of the music star, Ebenezer Obey. A divorced mother of two, who is herself a gospel artist and Aladura Prophet, the beautiful woman of God says even though sexual desires do come now and again to her – as someone married before – she has devised a way of coping with them by meditating on the Word of God.

She says: “It is easy coping with that. The trick is that whenever the desire for sex comes on you, just focus on the word and get more engrossed in it. It is true that such desires will come but the simple trick is to pray about it and get engrossed in the Word.”
An icon of beauty, the Prophetess reveals that men always make advances to her on a daily basis despite the fact that she is a divorcee with two children.
“I have a thousand and one of such requests and remarks on a daily basis but all I do is to make friends and as well let them know my stand on such issues. I also let them understand the calling I have and I am yet to hear from God on the need to remarry. So, I am always very open and sincere with them. I am just waiting for the will of God to be done,” she explains.

"Why My Husband Does Not Mind If I Kiss On Screen" - LAIDE BAKARE

For those who are conversant with the Yoruba genre of the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood star actress Laide Bakare needs no introduction. Laide is one of the most active Yoruba actresses, considering the fact that she started way back in 1999. She has starred in major Yoruba movies and in the process, has come to be a celebrity of noote in any social gathering that has her presence.

Laide's success in the industry can actually be attributed to the support she has been getting from her husband. For instance, while some husbands of movie actresses forbids their wives to act certain roles, Laide’s hubby does not mind.
The beautiful actress reveals that her husband does not mind even if she kisses on the screen.
According to her, “A lot of African men are like that, they don't understand when actors are on set and they want to make a scene looks perfect, it's our job! But I'm lucky to have a man that understands that my work is different from my lifestyle. He understands me very well and he does everything to support Nollywood to become more successful. So, he doesn't care seeing me on set with another man while acting, he understands my work and knows that I'm very principled and respect my body so much. I'm lucky having the right man that understands and will always support my career.”

"I Once Loved My Reverend's Son" - MONA LISA

Love can come in different shades. Have you ever witness a situation whereby a lady is listening to the preacher in church while secretly longing for the preacher’s son seated nearby.

Nollywood star actress, Monalisa Chindia is one lady that must have been in such a situation as sh recently revealed how she fell in love with her Reverend’s son when she was growing up. According to her, though the feeling was mutual, both of them never really got to express it.
“I had a crush on our reverend’s son back then. But funny enough, we didn’t express our likeness for each other. But I knew he liked me too,” she stated.
Beautiful Monalisa, who is a divorced mother of one, says she would be lying if she says there’s no man in her life at present even though she refuses to give the identity behind the man.
On why she decided to write as a columnist to a newspaper, she said it was borne out of her passion for writing.
She reveals: “I just stumbled on that aspect of my life. I used to have a diary when I was growing up. I was writing virtually all my day-to-day activities. So, when I was going through all that happened in my marriage, I was putting everything down. I noticed that every time I wrote those things down, the Lord often directed me on what to do. So, when the problem started in my marriage, the first person I ran to was my mum, asking her what I should do. With my mum on one side and my book of experiences on the other, my mum advised me to do what my hearts told me. So, basically, I decided to write because I wanted people to see my other side. This is because I know I have this very intimidating posture that can make people call me a no nonsense bitch. But I really wanted people to see my other side, which I am achieving through this column. I really like to touch people’s hearts. I like to feel people’s pains. I know that I have gone through a lot and that has made me to really want to reach out to people. Really, I just needed to write down my inner most thoughts and try to reach out to people who might be going through the same dilemma.”

"Marriage Is Still On My Mind" - EUCHARIA ANUNOBI

Those who think Nollywood star actress, Eucharia Anunobi, has called it quit with marriage, should have a rethink. The beautiful mother of one, who has been nicknamed “Nigeria’s Sharon Stone”, says she can settle down again with a man in marriage and perform her wifely roles.

In her words, “I am foolishly romantic. I believe that whatever you want to do, do it well. If you want to love, love well because you don’t know when you are going to die, so why hold back. I am not afraid to fall in love again, cook all the food or wash all the boxers. God said we should love and if the right guy comes, I will get married. I even want him to come now now. God said we shouldn’t be alone. I am willing to love and be foolish again. I never judge.”
Eucharia also denied the allegation that she had dropped her acting career.
“It’s not true. I think I was out of the country when that news broke. Somebody was just playing pranks because I will never ever– as long as I have breath in me– retire from acting. Acting is not a job you retire from, unless one becomes physically hindered. For me, its not a job but a passion. I am not doing it because of the money but because of the love I have for it. Maybe love is a small word. I am obsessed about the job and for me, it’s like a religion. I can’t stop acting and even in my dreams I don’t think I have ever said those words, that I want to stop acting, because it's not possible,” she stated.

Jim Iyke produced a copy of his International Passport to buttress his position.
Reacting to the incident, a close associate of the actor, reliably informed Star Weekly! that Jim Iyke has succeeded in making the publishers of the story to recant it. According to her, “all that stuff written about Jim Iyke and Sally is not true. There is nobody like that in his life neither does he have any such child.

"No Man Can Come Between Me And God" - DA RAP GODDESS

In the present crazy showbiz industry, where the career has led many – even so-called gospel musicians – away from God, the likes of Emmanuella Eberechi Chilaka, fondly called Da Rap Goddess by her fans, deserve some amount of commendation.

The Nigerian gospel artiste who resides in Ghana, recently explained why she has been able to remain true to herself despite the ruggedness of the industry and what society expects of its practitioners, saying God comes first in her life before every other thing.
She says “What matters is that I know myself and God knows who I am. I don’t have a problem with how they may want to see me, as long as they don’t tarnish my image and relationship with God. That is where I will have a problem, but no matter how they see me, I don’t have a problem with it.”
On her new album: “I’ll say it’s a dream come true. I dropped it here in Nigeria on June 19. It was more than I expected as many people were in attendance, even artistes. It was a thing of joy because they liked the songs. I am yet to release it in Ghana though. Although the first video for this album was shot in Ghana, I still feel there is no place as home. I want to give the love to people here in Nigeria before I take it anywhere else.”
