MONALISA CHINDA Honoured For Autism Movie

 Nigerian movie stars are getting recognitions not just for their interpretations of contemporary living but also for their roles in addressing special issues in the society. Such was the case, last week Friday, when   Nollywood actress, Monalisa Chinda and top producer, Emem Isong were among those honoured, for their effort in raising awareness for child autism in Nigeria.

On May 27, 2012, Emem with Monalisa premiered a movie on autism which was the first known movie done in that respect.

They were rewarded at the second Autism Awareness Conference held at Four Point by Sheraton, Lekki, Lagos by WOW Divas. WOW Divas is an international network of professional women.

So many dignitaries graced the event. These include  Dr Abiodun Aluko, Dr Bosede Askhia, Dr Yinka Akindayomi, Adeola Holloway Oduyemi, Dotun Akande, Mrs. Udo Maryanne Okonjo and Honourable Jerry Alagbaosa, member of the Imo State House of Rep amongst others.

The event saw of The Nigerian Autism Directory, which emphasised one of the key messages, Autism is not a death sentence. With early diagnosis, intervention and therapy, the child can recover without a trace.
